Scandinavian Christmas

I entered a competition at The Christmas Beetle and the prize was Lynette Anderson’s Scandinavian Christmas.  I was really happy as I have being eye this one of for a while.  So the start for the fabric began and I found a shop called Whatever Whereever not far from me that had the range of the fabric.  Now to start this pattern….

Another one from Twas the night before christmas

This is my biggest block for Twas the night before christmas.  I’m sorry about the quality but it is a big piece and used the panaromic setting on my camera.  As you can see the transfer had a line through it but it has faded after one wash so I’m hoping it will eventually disappear.

Fernhill

When I heard about this quilt, I really wanted to create it.  The challenge was that it is a mystery quilt so I don’t know what I am doing next.  I love Lynette Anderson’s quilts, and after starting this one I brought another one which is called Christmas Fun (yes another christmas quilt).  I have only done 2 blocks at the moment, but isn’t that what happens with quilting – you start a project and interchange with another project.  Above is block 2 called Forest Floor – it has a squirel button to be put on it but  I haven’t add the buttons yet as I will add them when finished. And below is The Dell – this one has the a bird button to be placed on it

Christmas In Italy

As you can see I love christmas.  I went into a shop a few months ago called The Christmas Beetle.  I love going there.  Well, at the time I went into the shop, they were going a block of the month called Christmas in Italy.  I feel in love with it and so my passion for quilting commenced.  The design is by Lenna Green based on her holiday in Italy.  As I stitch, and cut and create each block I wish I as in Italy.  I have of late been a bit behind in the block month but am catching up.

Twas the night before christmas

I have alwaysl like the poem Twas the night before christmas.  It takes me back to times when things were simple.  I know there are a number of variations of the design but I like this one by Hugs ‘n Kisses.  It basically uses two colors red and white. And I love the red cotton by DMC which is varigated.  It is lovely.  Well I have finished the blocks which I had to stitch.  I was a bit upset with one of them as the pattern used iron-on transfers and it was very challenging to do and to make matters worst, one of the patterns had a unwanted line in it.  But it is amazing that after one wash it started to lightened down.  Hopefully it will disappear.  I hope you enjoy what I have done .
